Abstract:
Inspiring Younger Generations To Help End World Hunger

This past fall and spring semester, Agronomy Society, in an effort to help spread awareness of world hunger and encourage community participation in defeating it, partnered with other Texas A&M clubs, AgSpire and Farmer's Fight, in their events, AgSpire Carnival Day and Kids Against Hunger. AgSpire is an organization whose goal is to inspire children to aspire to attend college, no matter their circumstance. Agronomy Society members manned a booth at the carnival and led children through hands on, agricultural activities. Kids Against Hunger is a humanitarian organization that works to feed hungry children here in the United States, as well as in 60 other countries around the world. Agronomy Society leadership helped to procure resources and provide volunteers for the meal packaging event that fed 45,000 local children in the Bryan-College Station area and 60,000 children in Africa.
