Abstract:
Accounting for carbon on farm presents unique challenges and opportunities to climate mitigation programs and policies.  Scientists and policymakers alike increasingly recognize the need to incorporate land-based climate mitigation efforts into climate change mitigation policies and programs. The world is rapidly advancing on this front, with 94% of all countries who submitted their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) ahead of the COP21 meetings in Paris, including the agriculture sector as part of their mitigation and/or adaptation contributions (FAO 2016)
