Abstract:
A review of the state-of-the-art of the use of soil blends to restore degraded soil chemical properties and remediate urban soil contamination.  Essential residual components of successful soil blends, from local sources, used to restore soil biogeochemical processes and remediation heavy metals and toxic organics will be reviewed.  Soil and contaminant assessment methods, including novel methods and proposed frameworks and their limitations will be presented.
