343 Soil Management Impacts on Soil Properties and Soil C and N Dynamics Poster I (includes student competition)

Poster Session
SSSA Division: Soil and Water Management and Conservation
Information is needed on the effects of management practices on soil quality and productivity and C and N cycling. This session will focus on the impact of management practices on soil properties, aggregation, and C and N dynamics as a result of C and N inputs to the soil, their transformation and translocation in the soil profile, sequestration as aggregate-associated C and N, Particulate organic matter (POM), and losses as water soluble or greenhouse gas emission, wind and water erosion, and other processes. This session will strengthen our knowledge on the impact of management practices on soil quality and productivity, C and N balance, N use efficiency to reduce N loss, proportion of C and N inputs sequestered in the soil or lost as greenhouse gases. In addition, presentations will address the impact of these management systems on, soil erosion, and crop yield
