Managing Global Resources for a Secure Future

2017 Annual Meeting | Oct. 22-25 | Tampa, FL

417 Nutrient Dynamics and Management in Dairy and Beef Cattle Production Systems Poster (includes student competition)

Poster Session
ASA Section: Environmental Quality
Dairy and beef cattle productions are challenged by wide variance in drivers ranging from nutrient management to sustainable food production. The focus of the session is to highlight the overall dairy and beef production system and issues such as nutrient pollution, water quality in dairy farm, beef value chain, production technologies to enhance protein yield and water use efficiency.  This session will target presentations on (1) nutrient budget and nutrient management plan; (2) mass balance assessments; (3) water quality and treatment; (4) whole farm modeling; (5) Nutrient cycling; (6) GHG emissions; (7) Policy and nutrient management.
