Thank you for all your work this year as you've organized and judged student competitions for CANVAS 2025. The system for adding and assigning judges this year empowers you to handle the process from start to finish as a session organizer. Please find all the information below, as well as tips to assist in using the online judging system.
How do I add judges to the system?
Use following link to add all your judges to your Section/Division: Call for Judges
At the above link, watch the short training video and then complete the form for any person available to judge abstracts during the annual meeting.
How do I assign judges to papers?
Access Speaker's Corner for your session to enter judging assignments into the system.
How do I assign judges to rapid submissions?
Rapid submissions are just a single paper dual assigned to a poster and an oral session. Organizers must assign one set of judges to the oral aspect and a second (different) set of judges to the poster aspect of the presentation. That way, the author can receive one set of scores for each part of their presentation.
How will judges access the online judging form?
All student competition judges for CANVAS 2025 will access their online judging forms through the online program or app. For this reason, all judges must be registered for the meeting. Judges will see a "Presentation Judging" icon in the program menu once logged into the online or mobile app using the same email address they used to register for the meeting.
How are each judge's scores tallied in the online system?
Judges' scores are tallied automatically when they submit their judging forms. The summary form that lists all judging assignments will also show the total score for each judged presentation next to the presentation title.
How will competition organizers view all judges' scores to determine competition winners?
Session organizers and division chairs will be emailed links to overall score reports that tally all judges' scores for the entire division and individual student competitions. These score reports can be downloaded into excel or viewed on screen to quickly analyze and review competition results.

We recommend keeping the above links open in a separate window while judging.
How do I enter my judging scores in the online form?
Log into the meeting program (online or mobile app version) with the email address you used to register for the meeting. Access the "Presentation Judging" menu option. Select the presentation title you're judging. Click "Show Presentation Details" to review the abstract, author information, or any uploaded files. Fill in your rating for each question and submit the form. Follow this step with each presentation.

When can judges begin entering their scores?
Judges can work on their evaluations from Saturday, November 8 through Wednesday, November 12. We recommend completing scores before Tuesday evening so organizers have time to compile the results and convey the winners for announcement at the Wednesday division/section business meeting.
