67 Nutrient Dynamics and Management in Livestock Production Systems Oral (includes student competition)
Oral Session
ASA Section: Environmental Quality Livestock including dairy and beef cattle productions are challenged by wide variance in drivers ranging from nutrient management to sustainable food production. The focus of the session is to highlight the overall livestock production system and issues such as nutrient pollution, water quality, waste management, and production technologies to enhance protein yield and water use efficiency. This session will target presentations on (1) nutrient budget and nutrient management plan; (2) mass balance assessments; (3) water quality and treatment; (4) whole farm modeling; (5) Nutrient cycling; (6) GHG emissions; (7) Policy and nutrient management.
