Managing Global Resources for a Secure Future

2017 Annual Meeting | Oct. 22-25 | Tampa, FL

83 Global Climate Change: More Recent Observations and Adaptations (includes student competition)

Oral Session
ASA Section: Climatology and Modeling
Climate-related impacts on agriculture result from the interaction of climate-related changes with the vulnerability or positive response of natural and human management systems. This session aims to describe climate change and associated extreme events (e.g. heat waves, drought, extreme precipitation, wind erosion, flood, etc.) on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and to present adaptive solutions (genetics, cropping practices, cover crops) or tools (models) for implementing long-term adaptation and mitigation strategies. We strongly encourage papers from both experimentalists and modelers in this area. All oral presentations given by students in this session will be eligible for Oral Presentation Award Competition.
