227 Understanding the Yield Gap in World-Wide Wheat Production and the Opportunities for International Collaboration Oral

Closing the yield gap in wheat production around the world is a major focus of the Wheat Initiative’s Expert Working Group (EWG) for Agronomy. The main aim is to consolidate the global expertise for agronomy with a focus on wheat production systems.  The symposium will focus on the following topics: 1. Current wheat research being conducted throughout the world; 2. Understanding the limitations to wheat production; 3. Quantifying water, nutrient, and radiation use efficiency in wheat production systems; 4. Wheat production research in the 21st century; and 5. Linking the components in the G x E x M complex.
