Autumn Skillington, Glen Stowers and Samantha Downey, Purdue University Agronomy Club, West Lafayette, IN
Hosting the Students of Agronomy Soils and Environment Science (SASES) regional meetings at Purdue University allowed SASES members from west Texas to Virginia and Minnesota to Oklahoma to increase awareness of agronomy in the evolving and broadening scope of agriculture in the eastern Corn Belt. Students were able to learn and experience a variety of agricultural products and practices in a number of agronomic conditions. SASES members were able to meet, network with and learn from sponsors, local individuals and industries involved in agronomy, while our sponsors, local individuals and industry members learned about SASES and our national organization. Our Purdue Agronomy club members leaned a plethora of responsibilities and leadership skills through planning, organizing and implementing the meetings.
