Potato (Solanum tuberosum, L.) response to climate change has been well analysed and documented. Several potato simulation models are able to take into account the main effects of climatic change and the interacting effects of [CO2] and temperature. However, SUBSTOR-Potato model has not been extensively tested for changed climate conditions. The aim of this study is to evaluate SUBSTOR-Potato responses to climate change. The model was first calibrated and evaluated with measured data from Denmark and northern USA. Results from the evaluation show good agreement between simulated and measured tuber yield. Subsequently, a sensitivity analysis at different concentration of [CO2] and different temperature levels was performed to compare the response of SUBSTOR to field experimental results from the Potato-FACE.
