136 Symposium--Scaling Soil Processes and Modeling: I
Oral Session
SSSA Division: PedologyA goal of pedology from the beginning has been the study of pedogenic processes and prediction at scales varying from point, horizon, pedon, hillslope, landscape, watershed, and beyond. The evolution of tools, methodologies and demands over the life of the pedology discipline has served as a catalyst for the emergence of new approaches such as pedometrics, digital soil mapping, and hydropedology. The common theme has been the quantification of pedogenic processes. The symposium is aimed at addressing challenges related to quantifying, modeling, and scaling of pedogenic processes necessary for the modeling and land use management communities.
